Irish Road Trip Begins - Wednesday, March, 4, 2015

Our Irish Road Trip began this morning after Alan picked up our rental car.  Keep in mind, that he's driving on the opposite side of the road, shifting with his left hand, and navigating through the narrowest roads imaginable!  We decided to stop for a coffee break in this cute little coastal town.  While enjoying our coffee, we chatted with this "movie star gorgeous" gal who recommended that we drive to Roundwood via the Wicklow National Park, stopping first for lunch at the Wicklow Heather Restaurant.  What a meal, what a drive!  The scenery looked like something from a movie. Later, we decided to drive to Avoca, Ireland's oldest weaving mill dating back to 1723.  We strolled through the mill, admiring the vivid weaving materials, and eventually made a few "can't not" purchases!  Back in the car, we all decided that we needed caffeine before continuing our journey, so we cross over this little bridge, and Alan and Teri go crazy.  Apparently, we've pulled into a little town that is the setting for a TV series they watch, "Bally Kiss Angel!"  Naturally, we have to stop and have coffee in Fitzgerald's, which is the focal point for the TV series.  Back in the car we drive on past cute little town after cute little town. As the sun starts to set, we decide that we should find a place to spend the night.  We travel into Enniscorthy, County Wexord and stumble upon Treacys Hotel.  Teri and I dash in to check about vacancy, but the clerk is on the phone, so we go into the lounge, whip out our phones, since Internet is flowing, to check out what Booking.com and Trip Advisor have to say about this place.  Once the clerk returns, which is about the same time we decide it is a safe place, we are ready to book our rooms.  After a relaxing drink in the pub, we've found a good recommendation on Trip Advisor for dinner, which is just a short walk away.  Our Italian dinner (are you seeing a pattern?) at Via Veneto was truly delicious!  We strolled back to our hotel and collapsed into bed after a wonderful day.
