Detour while driving the Ring of Kerry - Friday, March 6, 2015

Driving the Ring of Kerry was another "must do" while in Ireland.  Little did we know, that the detour we were forced to take would prove to be a memory to cherish. The detour took us along a winding path, sincerely this narrow ribbon would never be considered a road in America, that snaked along the most incredible scenery complete with sheep everywhere!  Alan stopped the car numerous times just so we could stare at the breath taking sights.  When an on-coming car approached, Alan had to pull into the farmers pasture!  Somewhere along this trip, we decided that Kilarney should be our destination, so we checked into Randles Court House (WOW!) and headed into town.  The Hussies had stayed here before, so we knew that it would be a hit with the Toddler because the rooms were HUGE!!  Rob decided to skip (yikes!) his retirement nap to venture into town with us.  Our first stop, the Aran Sweater Market for a gorgeous sweater for Lana.  This turned out to be a GREAT purchase, and she wore it everyday until the warm days of Paris!  We enjoyed a terrific dinner at The Parker House, and then sipped after dinner drinks back at our hotel.  Thus, the end of another perfect Irish day.
