Mt. Rushmore and more....Day #2

Well, every journey needs an adventure.....today was ours.  We were happily traveling along, and just as Rob was about to brag on the truck's dependability (really, it was almost spooky) the truck's engine alert alarm started pinging.  So, he quickly took the next exhibit, searching for a gas station, meanwhile, the truck is definitely slowing down.  We're in the middle of farm country,Salem, IL,  not a booming metropolis, but, like a miracle, there was a Chevrolet dealer at the next traffic light.  The maintenance manager and diesel mechanic could not have been nicer.  They told us to go have lunch, while they worked on the truck, which we did. Turns out the problem was a clogged fuel filter, an easy fix, and we were on the road again with just a couple of hours delay.  Thanks, Boulder Chevrolet, and especially John and Gary!
As we continued through farm country, we noticed what we thought were glider planes flying low over the corn fields.  Upon closer examination, we realized that we were watching crop dusters and our camera was in the camper....drats! It was definitely a cool thing to watch for us city slickers! Another observation, was the amazing amount of windmills among the miles and miles of farms.

As we got closer to the campground, I commented that we'd probably be staying in the middle of a cornfield, which turned out to be a true statement.  But, we're thankful to be staying at the Hickory Hollow Campground, Utica, IL!
