Sailing Away
October 5, 2014
We boarded the beautiful Celebrity Solstice around 1:00 and
discovered our home, Cabin 1629, for the next 18 days. When we booked this cruise, over a year ago,
we were told that we qualified for the "Aqua Class" which meant very
little to us at the time, but our travel agent seemed quite excited. Now, that we've actually seen the amenities
(special dining room, gorgeous private "spa" areas, etc.) we
understand the difference. We enjoyed a
delicious lunch, then toured the ship, determined to not stay lost for the
entire cruise. Next, it was time for the
usual life boat drill, but even this proved to be less of a hassle because we
didn't have to drag our life jackets with us!
By the time we returned to our cabin, our luggage arrived, so we
unpacked, showered for dinner, and went to our "special" dining room,
Blu. We had a table for two, next to the
window overlooking the harbor. The
tables are rather close together, so we enjoyed the sweet couple next to us,
Jeff and Linda. By the end of dinner, we
were exhausted, so we crashed, missing the midnight sail away. Bon voyage!
