New York City September 8 - 11, 2026

 September 8, 2026 Marietta to New York City

Anthony drove me to the ATL airport giving me all sorts of NYC advice along the way since that's his home! I had a quick breakfast in the Delta Sky Club before boarding my upgraded flight.  Once I retrieved my luggage, I walked over to the B Terminal where Michalene was waiting.  We followed the signs to Rideshare for our Uber to the city.  Ninety-three dollars later, we arrived, and deposited our luggage at the Hilton Midtown on the Avenue of the America's.  We grabbed a map and some suggestions before heading to Pick a Bagel for lunch/dinner.

Next stop, the 9-11 Museum.  Since the 25th anniversary is Friday, there were many, many interviews being conducted.  It was quite moving.

Next we visited the Occulus Building.

We zipped back to our room, deposited our luggage in our room, and headed over to the Empire State Building where we had tickets for the sunset. It was a perfect evening, and lots of other folks had the same idea, so it was a bit crowded, but spectacular.

On our way back to the hotel, we passed a Kabbalah Mobile.

September 9, 2026 - Staten Island, etc

Our goal this morning was to ride the Staten Island Ferry to see our Statue of Liberty. The weather was beyond perfect. The trip was one I will always remember!

Next stop was Guggelheim Museum which was a disappointment since it was under construction with many exhibits closed.

So, we walked over to St Patrick's Cathedral which was beautiful.

We crossed the street to see Rockefeller Center.

We dashed back to the hotel for a wardrobe change before going to dinner in Times Square to the Mermaid Bar.  Great seafood before seeing our play, "Oh, Mary" which was a hysterical spoof on President Lincoln's assassination.

September 10, 2026 - Met Art Museum

Our day began with a few hours in the Metropolitan Art Museum. Musical Bodies was a fabulous exhibit!

We tried to visit Temple Emanuel, but unfortunately, it was already closed for the holidays. We took a few pictures.

It was lunch time, so we took a VERY LONG taxi ride over to Little Italy for pizza.  We then walked around Soho, stopped for iced coffee, and eventually wandered back to our hotel.

September 11, 2026 - Last day - High Line

The weather was a little cooler so we ventured over to walk on the High Line.  It felt like we left the hustle, bustle of the city for a calmer, greener stroll.

 We took a cab back to the hotel, seeing several 9-11 celebrations along the way.  Our time was coming to an end.  We had such a fabulous time visiting The Big Apple.
